I did this for a horror VN set in the 80's so it might be similar to what you are looking for?. San serifs are easier to read on screen, but serifs carry a nice old world feel. For body copy (the actual text of your story) I go for something very simple and very easy to read, usually something like Open Sans. ![]() The display font you can have fun with since it will only be a word here or there (as long as it IS still legible) so it can carry the bulk of the theme you are trying to communicate. ![]() I usually use 2 fonts, one for display text and one for body copy.
